Odemwingie returns after eight-month injury lay off
The goalkeeper is buoyed with the Nigerian’s return to playing ways insisting his presence would go a long way in helping the Potters in their remaining EPL games.
Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has praised the return of Peter Odemwingie to the Potters lineup after coming out of a long term injury lay off.
The Nigerian forward made a second half substitute appearance for Stoke in their 1-1 draw against Sunderland at the Britannia Stadium.
According to the Bosnian, Odemwingie’s return could mark a sign of positive things to come for him and the club after spending eight months on the sideline.
"It was a brilliant moment and we're all very pleased for Peter. He's a great person to have around and he's been so positive and worked so hard at his recovery,” Begovic toldStokesentinel.
"Hopefully this marks a turning-point for him and he can get back into the team and play football regularly.
"You can't have too many players like him, so it's a positive to take into the game for next week knowing we can call on him,” he concluded.
The 34-year-old player is expected to play a big role for ninth placed Stoke City in their next English Premier League game away to Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on May 2, 2015.
